Yoga for the Advancing Beginner

One of the best ways we can stay resilient and healthy is to exercise and cultivate mindfulness. These donation classes with RYT 200 Lauren Koch are most accessible to people who have some basic familiarity with yoga and are able to comfortably take low lunge (lunge with one foot forward and the back knee touching the mat), tabletop, warrior two and other foundational yoga poses.

​Join Lauren for this movement class that is designed to make yoga welcoming and adaptable for everyone, regardless of experience, ability, or flexibility. With a focus on gentle movement, mindful breathing, and supportive modifications, Accessible Yoga meets you where you are. Whether you’re managing chronic pain, limited mobility, or just beginning your yoga journey, this class creates a safe and inclusive space to connect with your body, calm your mind, and nurture your well-being. All are welcome!

Explore the enchanting world of tunnel books. Create three dimensional scenes inspired by your time at the Folk School or anything you choose! Learn illustration, use of mixed media, and bookmaking techniques to craft unique tunnel book masterpieces.

​Gràrvölur Seidr Ritual - Friday Evening
Gràrvölur Seidr is a divinatory practice rooted in the lore and mythology of pre-Christian Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Scandinavia and Germanic Europe. In this divinatory ritual, participants can ask questions of our ancestors, deities, and other spirits. Seers will act as conduits to the beings sought and channel or relay answers. This new seidr ritual is offered by a team of practitioners led by Irene and Ash Glasse

Year long collaborative and interactive art exhibition

Beginning in May, artist Lauren Koch will facilitate a year-long, collaborative and interactive work of art in our third floor gallery space. Inspired by the tradition of Tibetan Prayer Flags, this installation invites community members to express their hopes and intentions through art. Whether words of peace, symbols of love, or affirmations of joy and pride, each contribution adds to a colorful banner sharing messages of love and peace.
Join Lauren during the kickoff event on Thursday, May 1 or Friday, May 2 between 10 am and 3 pm, or contribute to the installation any time during our regular open hours through next spring!
Join me in October for a screen printing workshop at John C. Campbell Folk School for a weekend screen printing workshop on this same topic.
